Eleni Papaleonardos is a teacher, actor, director, theatre creator, and proud member of Available Light [theatre].  Eleni has created new work with AVL[t], the SITI Company, and the Tectonic Theatre Project and directed new plays with AVL[t] and EAT Theatre. Her directing credits include:  Steven Dietz’s Foolin’ Around with Infinity, Jenny Schwartz’s God’s Ear, and A Light in the Night by Chris Dickman.  Favorite acting experiences include:  “Matilde” in The Clean House at Contemporary American Theatre Co. (CATCO); “Samantha Blossom” in Sheila Callaghan’s Dead City with AVL[t]; the title role in Schiller’s Mary Stuart, a coproduction of Actors’ Theatre of Columbus and the Ohio State University; and originating the solo role in Erik Ehn’s Sealskin, his contribution to Trepidation Nation, at the Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors' Theatre of Louisville.  Eleni was a member of the first M.F.A. company in Wendell Beavers’ new program in Contemporary Performance at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. A native of Columbus, Ohio and Aegina, Greece, she is now based in Granville, Ohio, where she lives with her husband, Mark, and her four cats, Red, Mary Todd, Kevin, and Rachel.
